Prices for servicing machines

What is a Sewing machine service?

This is an interesting question.....

Let's look at that from your point of view......

When you take your vehicle down to the garage for a service; "Does the garage mechanic strip the engine block down & correct the timing of the pistons which then allows your vehicle to operate correctly?.........Mine does not unless I ask him/her too.

A service from my point of view =

A jolly good clean (internally), an inspection (internally), an oil & needle change.

If your machine is working then why have you brought it to me?

My service prices are:

for

"Fees apply"

There is a £45.00 call out fee which will be waivered IF you would like your machine serviced.

£45.00 covers my time away from customers machines & fuel costs associated with getting to you & also IF I spy a setting up mistake associated with your sewing machine & I fix it on the spot.

Others Fees Apply

IF you want your sewing machine serviced quicker than my other customers are waiting then an extra £40.00 is also payable; NB (this is set as a detterent rather than a quick buck for me)

If not allowed to take machine away with me = £100.00per hour.

PAT testing is included unless told otherwise

I will not PAT test brand new computerised machines as I feel this is counter productive but I will do a visual on the electric cables leading in & out for my safety as well as yours.

I sometimes offer guarantees to accompany your machine particularly if they are recently new & out of manufacturers guarantee (I can't guarantee any circuit boards on todays computerised machines as unfortunately the Product Life Cycle is very low). The guarantee also includes some of the early 20th Century machines like the 99k or 15K & 201k Singer machines - You know the decent 1's that have been kicking around on your grannies sideboard gathering dust but were made back in 1884 & will probably outlast us all if not chucked on the recycling wagon...YES them... I fix them & have many parts to get them operational if not complete..
